The house of basmati rice

Basmati rice is a unique species of rice originating from Pakistan & India. Grown only in "Kalar" tract and Himalayan Region of Pakistan and India respectively and nurtured by the snow-fed rivers of Punjab. The supremacy of basmati over other varieties is predominantly due to its unique and delicately balanced combination of a number of characteristics such as long slender kernels, exquisite aroma, sweet taste, soft texture, and delicate curvature, all of which make it excellent for cooking. Its nut-like flavor and aroma are unique in the world.

Our basmati tastes like no other rice on earth and draws the highest premium because of its special characteristics. Unlike ordinary long-grain rice, the light, fluffy texture of Basmati's long slender grains offers the palate a totally different experience in terms of mouth-feel and taste – distinctive, unique, and slightly 'nutty'.

Basmati- a comparison with none, is gluten-free and low in fat. It contains all eight essential amino acids, including folic acid, and is very low in sodium and has no cholesterol hence the widely loved and consumed crop internationally. Our Basmati, like no other, is one to eat and transform simple dishes into sumptuous delicious.

History

Producing quality since 1978

Established in 1978 as a family owned & operated rice company and started trading off the precious commodity (rice) in the local grain market (Ghalla Mandi) of Chiniot, a small town in the heart of basmati zone in Punjab.

Iqbal Rice Mill has been growing healthy, great-tasting rice while respecting and sustaining the earth. Iqbal Rice Mill started its operation with one husking plant and was only a local provider.

After being a successful local provider, Iqbal Rice Mills stepped into rice exports during the 1980s and 1990s, became the leading supplier for the Rice Export Corporation of Pakistan (RECP), and then moved towards direct rice export in 1999.

The commitment to quality and building lasting business relationships, based on trust, led to steady growth in exports and the climax was reached in 2001 when Iqbal Rice Mills was awarded the special merit trophy of being the largest exporter of Basmati rice in Pakistan. Iqbal Rice Mills was then converted into a Private Limited Company in July 2013.

Today, we enjoy the trust of our valued clients in many countries of the world. However, the commitment to tradition and the quest for constant improvement continues unabated. We believe our discerning patrons appreciate that we oversee all facets of production – from growing & harvesting to milling & packaging of rice.
